Traders Log: May 29 - 2008 — Market: DOW MINIS.

Very sweet moves indeed today. Had 2 little losers and three colosso moves!!

The 1st trade I made my typical 10 points. Trade 2 I lost 15, that was a quick reversal for 9 more points! I then let my Trailing Stop “work” and I took in 22 points! My 4th trade brought me 10 points, and my 5th trade 10 more points. For a total of 28 points profit.  Could have made more. Alot more — but I dont think Greed is a good thing.

The S/P did AWESOME as well as I will show in the next blog post.

I was certain I was taking the day off… I lied!  I only traded the 30 year treasury and the dow minis. I am going to combine them both here in one post so I may leave early and start the long weekend….

I of course started trading the notes. My first trade was a 9 tick loser (hate starting the day with a loss. Trade 2 was a full recovery with a tick profit. My third trade made 12 ticks - so I left the bond pit with 13 ticks ( I punched out just before 9:30 so I would not miss the emini action). 10 lot traders made $2000 + with Trading Grail and the 30 year bonds

On to the dow minis.

Could not ask for a better day. 2 - 10 point winners for a quick 20 points !!!! I actually left money on the table, but for $1000 profit per 10 lot. I cant complain

So just trading the US 30 year and the first 30 minutes of the dow today, a 10 lot trader is up 3 THOUSAND. Not a bad way to start the weekend!! I think I will do just that.!

Had I known the Dow and S&P were gonna have a tough open, I would have been happy with my bond and euro profits and gone golfing the rest of the day. I sometimes try to trade them both… I like 2 points on the s&P and 20 - 30 points on the DOW to make me happy — or a combination of them both.

I only traded the dow minis but I wll still put up the S&P minis too. To obtain 2 points profit today in the S&P, one would have had to take about 6 trades. I shoot for a point per trade, and if I lose I shoot to make 2 points to get back to even - at that point I usually quit. To make 2 points on that trading strateg you would have done the following:  First trade gave us an easy 1 point profit, 2nd trade stopped out at 1.5 points; 3rd trade stopped out at 1.25 points (WOW) Finally a nice 2 point winner, and a nice 1.75 point winner puts us at our 2 point goal around 10:15 am.  Dicey - YES - profitable - YES.

Folks sometimes markets get hard to trade. Today was a bit tough. Trading Grail came out on top today trading the S&P. Here is the chart, and then I’ll go over my live dow trades:

Now moving on to my favorite market: the Dow Eminis. I absolutely love trading the dow minis!  I had 3 losers right out of the gate for a drawdown of -29 points on 10 lots  your down -$1450. I followed up with 3 straight winners of 10 points/ 27 points and 10 more points for a total of 18 points profit — about $ 900 profit per 10 lots.  I wish I kept going because Trading Grail caught some super sweet moves later on in the morning . Really though I had 3 profitable days on 3 markets so I really cant complain.

Also, on my fourth trade, I took 10 points. Usually I let the trailing stop get me out - this time I didnt. I was down 29 points and 10 points is better than 30% of my loss so I punched my ticket on it.  Same thing with the following trade. I was trying for 10 more points - but it retraced before I could exit - but after that it spiked up and I rode it up!!!

Very awesome way to start a holiday weekend. Oh yaeh!  I will post charts tomorrow but I seriously doubt I will trade… I love long weekends!!!

I knew after yesterdays 30 year bond action that I wanted to test the waters today.  I made 1 trade and knocked off 23 Ticks!!!!  $3590 per 10 lot!!!  This was awesome.

I stopped right there.. NEVER GET GREEDY when trading. I had a good night in the FX, and I just made a boat-load of cash in the 30 year notes.. PLUS I planned on trading the DOW and maybe the SP still at the open (I love to trade)

As you can see the next 5 or 6 trades were REALLY DICEY!! probably would have given back the 23 ticks I lost - of courese we finally had a great shot which woud have put you back in the money..

Either way, I am tickled pink with the 30 year and I will probably trade it again tomorrow! Trading Grail(r) Rocks - get your copy today!

Our forex trading plan is quite simple: 200 - 300 pips profit per month.  Thats good coin where we come from! Plus we trade other markets as well..  300 pips per month equals out to 15 pips a day. So on any day I make 20 pips, I will usually go back to bed.

Last night I almost didnt have the opportunity! I made 1 trade and it shot up 20 pips! Nice!! ok. I knew I wanted to trade the 30 year bonds in the morning - and the bond market opens about an hour before the dow - so I wanted to get some sleep to get up earlier.  However, I went ahead and took the 2nd trade. A short somewhere about 3:20 or so in the AM. It immediately goes against me so I was really kicking myself for taking the trade in the first place - especially that I was already up 20 pips!

Fortunately for me it dropeed back down and I was able to take 10 pips off of the trade. So I ended the EURO day with 30 pips today - not too shabby - but I am really tired !

I may have mentioned that I dont trade the 30 year all that much - that may be changing. One Tradin Grail(r) user showed me their trades today — wow. 4 trades in 2 hours and there was still 2 more winners after that!

Look at these trades:  - 6 ticks + 9 ticks + 11 ticks and + 7 ticks. On the charts you can see 2 more trades for another 10 ticks or so.

Just those 4 trades netted the 10 lot trader a very sweet $3,280 Bucks!!!! Not too shabby at all!! Heck, the 1 lot trader made $ 328 bucks in a couple short hours!

Made a handsome 30 point profit today, day trading the emini dow contract. Started off with a loser of 9, a winner of 11 points followed by a 28 point grand slam!

$1500 profit for the 10 lot trader. Not to mention, we had great Trading Grail trades like this all day! I honestly did not take them all — only these 3 - the point is Trading Grail works at ANY time on ANY market !!!

S&P eminis today had some very sweet moves. I am showing the ones I had taken. My first trade was an immediate loser of 1.5 points. I took a nice long and took 1 point back out of that trade. My next trade was a short tat netted me about 3.25 points — it actually went lower than that though!

I knew closing out at 3 points would put me at a net 2.5 point day. That is a good day to me day trading the eminis - Plus I was trading the Dow minis as well.

Trading Grail had several profitable trades today in the S&P!!

Currency trading last night was a little slow - right up until 4 AM when we had a major report. I am not one to trade reports, so I only had one trade. A short — I had a modest 10 pip profit - I took it and didt do anything else.

I wish I had taken the next trade at 3:30 or so. It was a biggie!  It came down and missed my stop by about 1 or 2 pips and then took off really nice!  Doesnt really matter: I was not in the trade.

Trading Grail called the move however so i am illustrating that. It also called several winners today! I cant show them all so contact your account manager if you’d like to see more.

Although I am not a bond trader, I admit I am very impressed with the good moves! Bond traders will really like what Trading Grail has to offer!

The first trade of the day was a whopper — Called a long at 116′20.5 and then Trading Grail called a short (before the trailing stop)at 117′03.0  Thats 20 + ticks of proft!!! at 20 tick that comes out to $312.50 per contract!! The 10 lot trader took the first trade and left at 9 AM wth  $3K profit!

I will continue to post bond charts. I’ve had a few requests to make regular posts.
